    Before the mid-1980s: There were only a handful of adhesive sealants used in the automotive industry.     In the mid-to-late 1980s: China's automobile industry has introduced nearly 70 complete vehicle and key parts manufacturing technologies from abroad, and the automobile industry has developed vigorously. At the same time, it also promoted the development of China's automotive adhesive sealant industry. In 1988, Dongfang Automobile Company introduced Nissan's body production technology, involving more than 10 new types of adhesive sealants that have not been used in China. Dongfeng Motor Corporation and the Beijing Aeronautical Materials Research Institute's Aerospace Department Xiangfan 42 Research Institute and other research units have realized the localization of the adhesive sealant required for the introduction of the model, meeting the production needs of the new model. At the same time, the models introduced by Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW Volkswagen, Tianjin Xiali, Beijing Cherokee, and Iveco from the south also raised the demand for development and application of automotive rubber. During this period, the development and application of automotive adhesive sealant products in China began to enter a rapid growth period.

    In the 1990s: With the rapid development of China's automobile industry, new requirements were put forward for the automotive adhesive sealant industry and opportunities for development were brought. During this period, the development and application of automotive adhesive sealant products in China have developed towards high performance, multi-variety, serialization and specialization. The automotive adhesive sealant industry has entered a stage of rapid development.

    Entering the new century: In the process of building a brand in domestic automobiles, the development and application of automotive adhesive sealants that meet environmental regulations have become a hot spot of concern. The application of new materials such as lightweight metals, composite materials and plastics in automobiles has led to the continuous increase in the amount of automotive adhesive sealants (there are dozens of varieties, and the amount of rubber used in bicycles can reach 20-40kg), among which automotive interior parts are used. Glue is a large area in which the amount of adhesive is rapidly increasing.

Development status of automotive adhesive sealant industry in China

    At present, as far as China's auto industry is concerned, the application of automotive adhesive sealant is close to the world's advanced level, regardless of the type of rubber used, or the location of use and the average amount of bicycles used. However, it should also be noted that although the domestic adhesive sealant varieties have developed rapidly, they still do not fully meet the special requirements of the automotive industry. Its performance is that there is still a gap in the performance of adhesive sealant, the quality is not stable enough, the product has not formed serialization and standardization, and some varieties and raw materials still need to be imported. In addition, the development of the rubber coating equipment required by the domestic related industries for the automotive industry is still far behind the development of automotive adhesives, which restricts the excellent promotion and application and good performance experience to some extent.
